Jujutsu, or how to bring back sanity in version control
Some years ago, after the BitKeeper debacle and the creation of Git, Mercurial and Bazaar, there is more or less a winner, and that is git. I’m not particularly happy about it because, let’s be frank, the UI/IX of git is atrocious. The commands are not intuitive, complicated, and moreover, require you to know way too much about the internals of git to be efficient. Which is why I stuck with Mercurial for so long, and finally gave up when Bitbucket folded over and removed Mercurial support.
Then, after getting endless pain with git, I finally heard about Jujutsu, a new git alternative that aims to fix the issues with git. It was created at Google by Martin von Zweigbergk with a git backend.
Now, working with version control is a breeze and pleasure again, while enjoying the advantages to use the mainstream VCS of all (github, etc.). Please be nice to yourself and try it.
